CCTV News: China’s first aircraft carrier is the Liaoning ship. It has been nearly ten years since it was listed in September 2012. After ten years of hard work, the Liaoning ship started from scratch, from offshore to the far sea, and achieved a gorgeous transformation from "experimental training platform" to "preparing for war pioneer".
On September 25th, 2012, the Type 001 aircraft carrier was officially delivered to the China Navy, named "Liaoning Ship of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy" with the ship number "16". From this day on, China has its own aircraft carrier, and naval construction has entered a new chapter. Two months later, on November 23rd, Dai Mingmeng, a test pilot of carrier-based aircraft, successfully blocked the landing of the carrier with the J -15 aircraft, and the People’s Navy achieved a historic breakthrough in the boarding of carrier-based fighters. After that, a batch of naval carrier-based fighter pilots drove the J -15 aircraft, successfully completed the assessment of blocking the landing and taking off on the Liaoning ship, and passed the qualification certification of aircraft carrier flight.
In July 2015, the Liaoning ship organized live-fire shooting for the first time and achieved good results in all hits. Since 2016, the carrier formation with Liaoning ship as the core has gone to the South China Sea, the Western Pacific and other sea areas for many times to carry out actual combat training, promoted the overall training of all elements and the whole process, continuously deepened the actual combat deployment drills, and explored and practiced the methods and approaches used by the carrier formation in offshore operations, and gradually realized the gorgeous transformation from experimental training to preparing for war.
On the voyage to deep blue, Liaoning ship also acts as an incubator. In the past ten years, it has delivered more than a thousand key talents to the subsequent aircraft carrier units and played the role of the "seed" unit of the first ship of the aircraft carrier.
Shandong Ship: Self-built People’s Navy enters the era of dual carriers.
On December 17, 2019, the domestic aircraft carrier Shandong Ship joined the People’s Navy battle sequence. Since then, the People’s Navy has officially entered the era of dual carriers.
Navy Shandong Ship is China’s first domestic aircraft carrier that is completely independently designed, built and equipped. The launching ceremony was held at Dalian Shipyard on April 26, 2017. On December 17, 2019, the ceremony for the entry of the Shandong ship was held in a military port in Sanya, Hainan. With the approval of the Central Military Commission, China’s first domestic aircraft carrier was named "Shandong Ship of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy" with the ship number "17", marking the official arrival of the China Navy in the era of domestic aircraft carriers.
In the process of construction, Shandong Ship has broken through two major technical bottlenecks that restrict the development of China’s aircraft carrier industry, such as hull structure and power core equipment, as well as key technologies for the design and construction of ship power products such as generator sets, integrated power systems and energy-saving and emission-reduction devices.
Since the entry of Shandong Ship, it has always adhered to the principle of trial training integration and the consistency of training and warfare, and actively sought the seamless connection between the trial training ground and the sea battlefield. It only took more than one year to achieve a major breakthrough from the first landing and take-off to the maximum centralized dispatch and recovery support capability. Successfully completed the test tasks of multi-class recovery and guidance of J -15 carrier aircraft, live-fire shooting of weapons in high sea conditions, maritime replenishment, cross-regional maneuvering, etc., and broke through many historical records of China’s aircraft carrier development, and its combat effectiveness continued to rise.
