Such confidence comes from the power grid safety and stability device and control system developed by Xue Yusheng team of Nanrui Group.
Xue Yusheng, who is 82 years old, is an academician of China Academy of Engineering trained by Nanrui Group. He has been engaged in the research of power system stability theory and power system automation since he studied PhD in 1985. In his view, the "newness" of the new power system lies in the need to adaptively respond to the uncertain state and events in various related fields, and also in meeting the multi-objective optimization needs in different fields, etc. "This requires us to carry out a large number of innovative work at the source and solve problems one by one."
However, the process of tackling key problems in scientific research is arduous, not only to sit on the "cold bench", but also to bear the doubts of the industry sometimes. Xue Feng, chief expert of State Grid and director of the system protection laboratory of Nanrui Group, joined the Xue Yusheng team in 1992. He still remembers that Xue Yusheng used "self-knowledge, loneliness" as his motto to encourage the team. "Virtual power plant is a system that manages and dispatches distributed energy through information technology and intelligent equipment. Although it is characterized by virtuality, its role is really worthwhile." Jin Yulong takes a large-scale commercial complex as an example. During the peak hours of power consumption in summer, the virtual power plant controller can realize minute-level or second-level remote control, and the temperature of the central air conditioner can be raised by 2~3 degrees Celsius, which can effectively reduce the peak load and ensure the safe supply of power.
"If we can aggregate more buildings and factories, we can better release the potential of existing electricity and ensure the safety of the power grid without building new power plants." Jin Yulong said that at present, the team has basically formed a set of relatively mature virtual power plant solutions, and related achievements have been demonstrated and applied in Jiangsu, Shanxi, Ningxia and other places.

"Our first production line took a year and a half from design to commissioning.
